GosuCup Hearthstone SEA 2015

Announcing GosuCup SEA Hearthstone 2015, now with bigger prize pool and Blizzcon points

GosuGamers is happy to announce that the hugely successful GosuCup SEA series will make its return this April. In cooperation with Blizzard, the tournament will have not only an increased prize pool, but also award valuable World Championship points.

We started the GosuCup SEA initiative in November last year with plans to support the South-East Asian scene on a grass roots level. Over the course of four months, we held 16 tournaments, mixing “regular” and “budget” formats to give everyone with love for Hearthstone a chance to make a name for himself. Every Saturday, hundreds of enthusiast flocked to GosuCup SEA, representing not only themselves, but also their country. National rivalries but also sound friendships were created as the circuit marched towards its grand conclusion.
In late February, we collected the 32 best players in the region and after a long day of spirited card slinging we crowned Aki “AkiSera” Sera as the grand champion of the 2014 circuit. Since then, our inboxes received multiple emails with the same question: “Will there be more?”
As a matter of fact there will be. Much more. Announcing the GosuCup SEA Hearthstone 2015 circuit.

We're back, and bigger!

The 2015 season of GosuCup SEA is the continuation of the hugely successful GosuCup SEA 2014 circuit, designed to support the local scene on a grassroots level. In its new season, GosuCup SEA will be tightly connected with the 2015 World Championship campaign, awarding not only prize money but valuable World Championship points as well. The tournament will be covered on GosuCup.com, the portal that will also contain all relevant information about the circuit.
Every Saturday, players from the SEA region – including Indonesia, India, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam – will be free to sign up and compete in one of the 16 open tournaments, spanning between April and July. Compared to the previous season, however, the stakes are now higher:

  • $500 in prize money for each cup, which is a five-fold increase compared to 2014. This purse will be split $300 / $100 / $50 for first, second and third/fourth
  • World Championship points will be awarded to the best players as follows:

  • 1st place: 20 points
  • 2nd place: 10 points
  • 3rd/4th place: 5 points
  • 5-16th place: 1 point

  • Modified “Conquest” format will be used in all cups. Players can have one deck per class and upon winning a game, the class will be locked for the remainder of the series

GosuCup SEA 2015  is officially sanctioned and partnered with Blizzard Entertainment Southeast Asia. The series provides more World Championship points especially for SEA players. Prove the strength of the region – sign up, compete and earn your spot in the global finals!

Mark your calendars – GosuCup SEA 2015 is coming soon!

The first GosuCup SEA will be held on April 4th, starting at 14:00 SGT and registrations for it will open one week before that, on March 27th. The initial maximum number of players will be set to 256. However, we’re prepared to increase that maximum should the interest in the tournament be higher.
A new cup will follow every Saturday at 14:00 SGT. Registrations for each cup will open on the Monday before the event at 07:00 SGT.

Also, on a second note, I am your Click-Storm's Hall of Fame Top 4 Hearthstone player. Raking up so many points out of 110 players. Basically, I own myself an Armaggeddon Nuke 7 gaming earphone which is pretty much a blast! Also, being the Sarawakian with the power to wrestle with West Malaysians. I do hope to have some local team mates that's as strong enough to play this epic Warcraft card game together. I shall do whatever it takes to emerge as champion!

That concludes my winning records for now! Thank you to Armaggeddon Singapore , Click-Storm for this worthy gift.

 Online, SEA
  •     27 Feb, online, 20-00, NEW SEA Online #1: video top 4
  •     6 Mar, online, 20-00
  •     14 Mar, online, 20-00
  •     20 Mar, online, 20-00

At the 27th February, I clinched Top 6 out of 52 participants which isn't an easy run. But it was great winning a fake AMAZ nicknamed user from Singapore and also a good win against aKiSera, the current leading champion player in Malaysia. It proofs that ranks doesn't really matter. Only timing , strategies , deck counters and mindset would lead me this far.

It was my first and foremost best result ever concerning so many SEA players are into play. Excluding the Top 32 finishes from 128 participants back at one of the GosuCup seasons. Back to topic, I lost only to an Indonesian pro called Kev and he was praising me for my aggressive Hunter deck execution. It was a very close game to me! Despite lacking many legendary cards, I am able to put a good fight with them.

The rest of the event, I did not have a good run but at least beaten one or two players especially GosuCup event and also ZOTAC cup which will be held this coming Sunday again! There are news that the earlier stated would have new series coming up again for Hearthstone players in SEA.

I'm ready to join as many in order to put my battle experience into play! Do not mess with my mixed decks as I studied them from time to time to make the best out of it. Just some hype in my article here.

Signs out,
Royce

GosuGamer 2015 Card Design Contest

Cool stuff inbound, fellow Hearthstone fans! Starting this month, GosuGamers is giving you the opportunity to be creative and compete for awesome Hearthstone prizes. What we want from you? Easy: Design a Hearthstone card.

The "GosuGamers card design contest" will run every month, from February to December, and will be open and free for everyone who wants to take part in it. The rules are simple: design a Hearthstone card and send it to us. If we like it, we'll put it for community voting and the three winners will go home with prizes.

In addition to that, every month will feature a different theme which contestants must follow when they design and submit their creations. To give a "wilder" start to the competition, the February episode will have an open theme, meaning you can do anything - minions, secrets, spells, Mage weapons... We have just three restrictions:

1) Don't do new classes or hero powers.
2) Don't invent new keywords. If you want to create a new mechanic, word it out.
3) While we enjoy seeing strong cards, don't invent the 0 mana cards that win the game when played. Those will not get many votes from the crew! Try to find a good balance between what you think is a balanced, playable card with a cool concept.

Here's a breakdown of how each month of card design will go:

  •     First day: New theme is announced and submission inboxes open
  •     1st-15th: Submissions inbound! Send us your stuff so we can judge it.
  •     16-19th: GosuCrew reveals their top 20 cards. These go up for community voting.
  •     19-28th: Community voting!
  •     Final day: Winners are announced. They can now brag to their friends how amazing they are and throw a Hearthstone pillow in their face.

Guess what?! I found this opportunity and took almost 30 minutes of scrambling through Warcraft's artwork and manipulated a new card. It's logical , it's sexy and hot! What could it be? It's none other than a Night Elf race we all have seen but not the name!

So, whose the author? It's none other than me. I have submitted this artwork filled with confidence whether it's selected or not but in hopes of winning, it's a cool card in my whole opinion. Let's see how well Moira Darkheart sparks the community.

Game Politics

I never wanted to voice it out but this is the reality of competitive sports or certain E-Sports. As a competitive ex-gamer from the past to DotA 1 and Dota 2 with some console event participations, I feel that the top players that are not closely related to me is very less of a professional type. Most of the ruthless ones may have skills but no quality in teamplay games but solo , ego , selfish resides.

Game politics is where it's bred from unjust organizers no matter it be individual or a group or also from cyber cafes. I have experienced this for many years (up to 6 years to be exact) before retiring but with several achievements AGAINST their own organizer's team or even maybe their own political purpose to win and prepare early for their own events.

There are a few factors that lead to their wins and mostly it is due to this term "game politics". We often heard of "office politics" and others this is why people jump from other better jobs to apply so as competitive gaming? We tend to retire and do normal jobs because they bring unhappiness to the gamers community no matter it be online or offline event.

The classic definition to game politic to me is "an act of unjust activity in terms of organizing a game event or competition which they will certainly win No. 1 or No. 2 by right" as you can judge and feel, ALWAYS believe your instinct and just move on like ME. I have been disappointed with most of them organizers. The only one I respected most is the one's who retired in organizing and is in my friend network. I won't list who they are but many have fallen because they know the players and their standard, attitude are not reachable to the international scene.

A majority part of the gamers base can't control their own ego , selfishness and I won't state any racism towards it. Let the eyes be the judge for their personality and standard. I may had a little bit of all these but it my respond to this unjust community nevertheless. Sometimes, I would say a lot of mama boys and unappreciative kids are PRO at their gaming due to their pathetic spending of money towards any games. They DO NOT earn like a normal job , career person and this made them in the group of childish and irresponsible humans. I won't even think they achieve any gaming achievements until they can leverage themselves in between professionalism of gaming and also standard of procedure as a human who can earn and play. None in Sarawak or entirely Malaysia can reach this height. But I COULD tell you that 15%~20% of the decent and pro gamers that are good individuals and citizen of Malaysia have been blessed or checked by me, be it online or being game friends to career workers.

And again, I emphasize that "Game Politics" in large is a despicable act made by many individuals or even cyber cafes that do not even have true passion in E-Sports. They wanted MONEY only to be honest. But they never thought that reaching higher levels, you can earn as much as usual than being "KIASUNESS" mode in organizing and even playing in both modes. That's so wrong. I will never respect organizers that just made it for the benefit of their own team or BIAS towards the gaming crowd. Due to the above reasons, I tried to be the whistle blower so that makes me lack the mood to play MOBA games like I used to be. I could really put effort into it but the problem I see in many country is they lack what their idols or pro gamers are having.

Politics to me is a very pathetic term if applied to most of the jobs and stuff. Why is there politics? I tell you why.

Firstly, it is because the office , game politics or even sports are mostly losers as a human. I mean really, why they are losers? They are afraid of newborn workers , gamers or sports individual that can exceed them in companies , events or whatsoever in short times or many personal reasons. This is why this group of human will forever exist to win but in their heart, they are losers. I am pleased to see why my haters from many "low-class" community wants to criticize me when they were the true worthless ones.

Secondly, they can't afford to lose which is why many rules and policies are made in all the above is to stop the freshmen from excelling faster in whatever they like to do and earn. But it's ok, freshmen will prevail if they are good.

Thirdly, they can be very good at the jobs and games they play but they just can't accept themselves losing to new , unexpected or pro uprising workers and gamers. Be it organizers who even organize and even play at the same event, unfair by right? Do the heck they know how much people does not accept that?

Funny thing is all of these politic terms have never create positive energy and mindset. My advise to you as former competitive MOBA player is, just ignore or move on with better games or relaxing things to do because it was slowly becoming BAD in Malaysia entirely. May time bid this politics go to ashes or to the minimum.

I for all, wanted a community that respects pros or even noobs but in a way they need to know their own integrity. I can read minds, I don't think I am not capable but YES. So what I have written will help you face this world. There's always LAW and ORDER, never be afraid to stop those haters or unjust people in your life.

Signing off,
Royce

Dota 2 The Bounties - Malaysia

It is said that not every victory is meaningful – we beg to differ.
E-Club proudly brings to you Dota 2 – The Bounties. Contrary to the traditional game formats, every win on this tournament will be instantly gratified.
The name is apt to the format, as every win will let a team receive a ‘bounty’, and thus a progressive prize is developed as a team advances further into the tournament.
Dota 2 – The Bounties is an online tournament, and it will be played on seven different SEA countries.

MyGarena -ARSP DotA Season 1

The game rules from organiser :
- The bracket above will be started at 12 July and end at 17 July. Mean, if you are in the 7pm group, you are recommended to play it at 7pm everyday start from 12 July to 17 July. You get 0 score per game you missed. Check your score at www.mygarena.com/dota after your game finished.
- The game will be continue if some players dced. The player who dced will get 0 score also. You will only get score if you stay until the throne/tree is destroyed.

It's a nice outcome assuming I have never touched TerrorBlade in 5v5 for many months as my role for competitive DotA at the moment was more focused on Ganking and Supportive role. So in terms of online tournament, I treat it as public play and fix team capability for future. The opponent just lack pretty much teamwork and that goes into our winning advantage further. I might join the online tournament again if the time fits the other day. [DoP]RollsRoyce wishes good luck to other player on different time schedule for matchup!

Lunar DotA Tournament Bracket

Was a very heated game lately, my team CoZee|Reborn had to battle at Loser Bracket due to first round against the solid GGMix. It was all right by gaining 2 wins and 2 loses in this competition as it brings a lot of experiences for the next venture of me and the team. I acted as the advisor and spectator due to my recovery of appendix so i didn't play most of the game but had observed one game which will had my name being spoken that is.... The match between GR VS IgS was quite intense for the fresh and potential! Our 4th round was to fight P2P Gaming which is a senior team made few years ago and their push tactic was great indeed. Guess it's time to revise newly tactics and challenge all the top senior teams next time! Then...it was nearly reaching Semifinals and for the Grand Finals between the remaining two i suppose would finish pretty soon with the Loser's & Winner's bracket winner battle it out! Stay tune for more!

And good job to Trinora for reaching as far as my team progress as well! DeaD a.k.a Trinora's team member with Empire Gaming mixed did put some good fight at their very bracket as well. And for then, good luck to the Grand Finals and replays should be out soon by the local Gizmo organisers.

Malaysia GTS Starcraft Bracket

I personally think that the bracket was made quite progressively. And you can see old-timers Starcraft players scattered around the bracket to compete. I might not be able to play at the exact time or might delay. Hmm, anyhow a few players like me got default win which is good news but then i might as well just wish the best players in the Starcraft scene (who played SC long enough) to take the Top 3 !
